In this small project the vienna poetry school offers every Dutch
poet from ArtEZ a free ride of her/his choice (carousel, bumper car,
shooting gallery, ghost train, etc.) and receives a photo and
a poem in return – a souvenir for visitors and hosts.

jürgen berlakovich
author, musician and sound artist. texts, speech-/soundscapes, palindrom songs, audio cartoons, sound essays, sound interpretations, film music, performances, radio plays and dna-sonifications. founder of takamovsky. co-founder of the music and literature performance duo sergej mohntau. member of the vegetable orchestra. he studied german literature and philosophy at vienna university and teaches acoustic poetry at the sfd. co-curator of the sfd series “soundlines” – lecture performances on acoustic poetry.

orhan kipcak
born in istanbul, grown up in austria. media designer, since 1989: operation of a design company for media design (adm™) in graz. numerous projects in art, design, virtual exhibitions and digital exhibitions for museums, festivals, the public sector and the industry (biennale di venezia, ars electronica, zkm, reuters, etc.). key researcher in eu research projects, projects in the field of tele-learning, game design and physical computing. since early 90s teaching at universities in graz and vienna; professor at the university of applied science graz (fh joanneum); lecturer at the university of applied arts, institut für sprachkunst (institute for creative writing), vienna; visiting lecturer at the hyperwerk, basel. since 1997 close collaboration with the schule für dichtung (sfd, vienna poetry school). kalle aldis laar
*1955. sound artist, composer, radio play writer, dj. exhibitions, performances, interdisciplinary projects. radio plays & features, amongst others, for bayerischer and südwest rundfunk. presentations and lectures on, for example, sound, power and politics; sound and art; and about media and vinyl history. teaching assignments in munich, singapore, berlin.

judith nika pfeifer
writer, performance and language artist, teacher. interdisciplinary phd in political science and linguistics. she writes poetry, prose, scenic and radio texts (in german and english). transmedia art projects and collaborative works in vienna, berlin, edinburgh, montreal, rome. 2012 reinhard priessnitz prize, 2017 max kade writer at lafayette college easton/pa, 2018 university of arizona, 2018 srishti school of art, desing and technology, bangalore. 2020 georgetown university. she taught creative writing in the u.s., south india and austria. her poems have been translated into english, serbian, french, hindi, chinese, spanish and italian.

judith nika pfeifer once took part in the legendary
"brothel" class by augusta laar & ernst molden at the sfd, and has been artistically involved in sfd projects ever since. she lives in vienna and in berlin.

tex rubinowitz
born in hannover. has lived in vienna since 1984 and since then has drawn cartoons for various newspapers in the german-speaking world (falter, standard, zeit, faz, titanic). in addition, he is an occasional actor, a singer in a band with a dubious name (“mäuse” – mice), doo wop dj, book author. winner of the ingeborg bachmann prize 2014. publications (among others): irma (2016), lass mich nicht allein mit ihr (2018) – all published by rowohlt.

klaus nüchtern
journalist, author, literature critic, columnist and bird lover. he studied german and english in vienna. writes for the weekly vienna city magazine falter, where he also headed the culture pages for two decades. he runs the jazz label handsemmel records, co-hosts the literature talk show tea for three and studies history. he was awarded the prize of the city of vienna for publishing and the austrian state prize for literary criticism. his most recent single publication is "kontinent doderer. eine durchquerung". (c.h. beck 2016), about the viennese writer heimito von doderer.

maartje smits

*1986, she is a poet in image and language. via video, performances, photography and text she explores subjects that are dear to her, often linked to feminism and ecology. from this practice she teaches transmedia storytelling and design at the gerrit rietveld academy and at artez (arnhem).

maartje smits' books of poetry were published by uitgeverij de harmonie. maartje lives and works in amsterdam, and in her spare time she is a beekeeper. (
